Guide
Answer a few questions about your kitchen or bathroom, see a personalized planning range in a few minutes, then confirm the details at a free in-home consultation.
You don’t want to invite someone into your home just to learn your project sits in a different price range than you imagined. That’s why our process starts with an online estimator instead of a sales visit. Here’s what it asks, what it shows you, and what it can’t know until someone sees the room.
Why we start with a planning range
Three planning bands frame every project we price. Kitchen projects mostly start around $25,000, a typical kitchen remodel lands around $40,000, and larger kitchens with full layout changes or premium selections run $50,000 to $60,000. Bathroom projects mostly start around $15,000, a typical bathroom remodel lands around $25,000, and primary suites or full layout changes run $30,000 to $40,000. The bands tell you roughly where you stand, and the estimator narrows that down to your project.
A range up front saves time on both sides. If a project is below what professional remodeling realistically costs, it’s better to find that out before anyone schedules a visit. If it fits, the consultation can focus on your room instead of on ballpark numbers, and your answers are already in hand when we arrive.
What the estimator asks
Start by choosing the room you’re planning, or go straight to the kitchen estimator or the bathroom estimator. Every option comes with a short description, so you don’t need to know trade terms, and you can step back to change an answer at any point.
Kitchen questions
Kitchen size: small, medium, or large
Renovation scope: partial, mid-range, or full
Cabinetry: keep, reface, new, or premium and custom
Countertops: keep, new quartz, or premium stone
Flooring: keep or replace
Layout: keep it, make minor changes, or make major changes
Plumbing and electrical: standard updates, minor changes, or major changes
Finish level: standard, upgraded, premium, or high-end
Bathroom questions
Bathroom size: small at about 35 to 50 square feet, medium at about 50 to 80, or large and primary at about 80 to 150 or more
Renovation scope: partial, mid-range, or full
Shower or tub: keep, standard replacement, tub to walk-in shower, custom tile shower, or freestanding tub
Tile style: standard ceramic and porcelain, or custom and specialty tile
Vanity: keep, standard replacement, upgraded, or custom
Layout: keep, minor changes, or major changes
Plumbing and electrical: keep existing locations, minor changes, or major changes
Finish level: standard, upgraded, premium, or high-end
Pick Tub to Walk-In Shower or Custom Tile Shower and one more question appears, asking whether you want frameless or custom glass. Planning both rooms? Run the kitchen and the bathroom separately so each set of questions fits the room, or call (559) 269-0376 to talk through where to start.
What you see at the end
After the last question, you enter your name, phone, email, and ZIP code. The ZIP code is how we confirm your home is inside our service area, which covers Fresno and Clovis and reaches about 60 miles out across Fresno, Madera, Kings, Tulare, and Merced counties.
Then the results appear on screen:
A summary of the project your selections describe
Photos of finished All American work for that type of room
Your estimated investment range, based on the size, scope, materials, layout, and finish level you chose
A short video on what the estimate means and what happens at the in-home consultation
A calendar to book a free in-home consultation, or a phone number if you’d rather talk first
Curious how a different choice changes things? The results screen has a button to start a new estimate, so you can compare refacing against new cabinets, or standard tile against specialty tile.
Why the answer is a range
A single number would look more precise without being more accurate. The estimator works from your answers, and several things can’t be known from answers alone:
Exact measurements. A medium kitchen or a small bathroom covers a span of sizes.
Final selections. New quartz or an upgraded vanity covers many products at different prices.
Existing conditions. Water damage, old wiring, out-of-level floors, and how the plumbing is routed only show up in person, and some only after demolition.
Permits and code. What’s required depends on the work and on which city or county covers your address.
Work beyond finishes. Anything that involves engineering or licensed electrical, plumbing, or mechanical trades needs a look at the house itself.
The range shows that uncertainty honestly. It’s a strong starting point for planning, not the last word.
What the in-home consultation confirms
When the range works for you, a free in-home consultation comes next. That visit is where measurements are taken, existing conditions are reviewed, permit needs are confirmed, and selections are talked through, including anything the questions didn’t cover.
Bring whatever helps you explain the room you want: saved photos, a list of must-haves, and the questions you wrote down while answering. It’s also a good time to ask about lead times for the selections you’re leaning toward, since they shape the schedule.
From there, you receive a final price, a clear plan, and a schedule before any work begins. Read about our remodeling process to see how the pieces connect.
What the range is not
The planning range isn’t a quote, a final price, or a contract. It isn’t an itemized bid either, so it can’t be held up line by line against another company’s proposal. Once you have bids, compare them with each other using the guide on how to compare remodeling bids.
It also can’t account for things you didn’t tell it. If your project includes something the questions don’t ask about, bring it up at the consultation so the final price reflects it.
Getting the most useful range
Answer for the project you actually want, not the cheapest version of it.
If you’re between two sizes, measure the room and pick the closer one.
Choose the finish level you’d really buy, since it moves the range on its own.
Be realistic about layout changes, since moving a sink or a shower changes the plumbing, not just the look.
Write down questions as you go, so the consultation covers them.
